Alan Greenspan Calls Neil Cavuto Out on "Just Terrible Misreporting"

Reported by Melanie - September 19, 2007 -

Neil Cavuto interviewed former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan yesterday (September 18, 2007). During their discussion, Cavuto steered the topic toward the "mortgage meltdown," and in doing so, he asked this question:

You must have seen what was happening in real estate and when you espoused, hey, adjustable rate mortgages aren't a bad idea, when fund rates were already very low, did you fuel it?

Two questions were on the table at the time (Cavuto intrupted Greenspan quite often), and Greenspan said, "Let me finish my first part...the second part is just terrible misreporting."

Here's video:

Comment: Cavuto, like all the Fox folks, summarizes history in whatever way best suits the message so it was good to see someone call him on that, finally.
