Bill O'Reilly Spits On American Democrats While Spinning For Republicans

Reported by Deborah - September 8, 2007 -

Bill O'Reilly was in high gear last night setting up the spin to counter reactions to General Petraeus' testimony on Monday. His TPM ,provocatively titled, Dangerous Dissent, 9/7/07, clearly labeled Democrats, who might question the General's testimony, "opportunists" who don't want success in Iraq because it could cost them the election in 2008. BOR, intent on dividing America, is always ready to remind his faithful viewers that only Republicans love their country while Democrats are plotting to steal it from them.

Last night the media boogeyman was Paul Krugman who expressed doubt about Petraeus' upcoming testimony in the New York Times on 9/7/07

" General Petraeus has a history of making wildly over optimistic assessments of progress in Iraq that happen to be convenient for his political masters."

That was unforgivable to BOR who conveniently forgot that Paul Krugman is also an American who cares enough about his country to express his concerns in the New York Times, a respected symbol of American journalism.

O'Reilly said listening to Petraeus on Monday was the "fair and patriotic thing to do" adding that the "far left" won't listen."

" To them the war in Iraq isn't a national security issue, it's an opportunity"

Claiming that " legitimate dissent is valid", he warned of a "progressive " agenda threatening America if Republicans lose the election. In other words, any criticism from a Democrat is illegitimate and any Republican dissent, although legitimate, shows disloyalty to the party.

comment: This of course is nothing new for O'Reilly or FOX News who try to convince the world that Democrats are outsiders and not really true Americans who love their country and respect and honor the troops. He makes sure to give Democrats negative labels like "far left" or the meaningless "secular progressive".

If Bill O'Reilly really cared about this country, he would promote unity and understanding. He would want every voice to be heard so we could work together to get out of this mess. What a sad waste.
