Republican Party And Ethics Committee Hiding Out From Studio B On Craig Affair

Reported by Donna - August 29, 2007 -

After getting beat on by News Hounds for several times of not identifying or playing down the fact that Republican politicians get in trouble, Studio B made up for it today.

Breaking News: Senator Craig is now stepping down from all of his commiittee obligations, but has not said he will resign.

Senator Craig (R-Idaho) has pleaded guilty and now is recanting his plea. Studio B covered the story well having the only Republican Representative on to talk about him resigning.

Smith said they called everyone, the Republican Party, the Ethics Committee and they would not appear to talk about Senator Craig. Representative Hoekstra (R-Michigan) was the only one who stepped forward to appear on Studio B. Later on Smith said there was a second Republican, Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN), who was now calling for his resignation. Senator McCain did not call for his resignation but said he should resign.

Comment: Sounds like Studio B reads News Hounds is trying to cover this as a Republican political problem. However it sounds like the Republican Party and the Ethics Committee is hiding out. Smith said late in the program that the Republican leadership was still hiding out.
