Fox Tidbit - More Chyron Shenanigans

Reported by Melanie - August 29, 2007 -

One of the guests today (August 29, 2007) on Fox's "premiere business news" program was Senator Trent Lott (R-MS). Lott was on to report on the post-Katrina rebuilding going on along the Gulf Coast. He was probably the only native Fox could trust (Haley Barbour must have had a prior commitment) to toe the it's-going-pretty-well line. Anyway, during Lott's segment, the chyron read:

Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) on Rebuilding the Gulf Coast.

Immediately following Lott's interview, Fox went to a FOX NEWS ALERT and reporter Molly Henneberg. Henneberg reported that Senator Larry Craig (R-ID) had resigned from his committee assignments. The chyron Fox put up during her report read:

Sen. Craig to Step Down from Committee Assignments

Fox puts on a Republican to give a positive report about the rebuilding going on along the Gulf coast, and they take care to give his party credit. Seconds later, they talk about a Republican who is bringing shame to the party, and the chyron omits his party affiliation With attention to detail like this, is it any wonder Fox's viewers are the least informed of all television news consumers?
