Musharraf may declare "state of emergency" in Pakistan

Reported by Chrish - August 8, 2007 -

Yesterday 8/7/07 on the O'Reilly Factor, irresponsible "journalist" Bill O'Reilly said to a world-wide audience "We won't need that (surveillance program) after we invade Pakistan and kill all the Al Qaeda - we won't need any of this surveillance." Today Matthew Pennington reports

"The government of embattled Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf said Thursday it may impose a state of emergency because of "external and internal threats" and deteriorating law and order in the volatile northwest near the Afghan border.

Tariq Azim, minister of state for information, said some sentiment coming from the United States, including from Democratic presidential hopeful Barak Obama, over the possibility of U.S. military action against al-Qaida in Pakistan "has started alarm bells ringing and has upset the Pakistani public."

O'Reilly has called Chris Rock, Bill Maher, Richard Gere, Ed Harris, Joy Behar, Sean Penn, Donald Trump, Harry Belafonte, Rosie O'Donnell, the Boulder High School sex-panelists, judges, editors, critics, literally dozens of people irresponsible for criticizing Bush and helping the terrorists, yet none of them have done so on their evening broadcast which, we are constantly reminded, reaches millions of viewers. His attempt at humor (at the expense of a Democratic presidential candidate, natch) may have been taken seriously - the price we pay for mixing "news" and entertainment.
