If Murdoch Finally Gets the Dow Jones, Will He Change the Name?

Reported by Marie Therese - July 21, 2007 -

According to an article by Brett Arends posted at TheStreet.com, if Rupert Murdoch achieves his complete takeover of the Dow Jones, he would own the name as well. Arends writes "[naming] rights to the DJIA may be the surprise kicker to Murdoch's $6 billion-plus battle for control of The Wall Street Journal's publisher. Dow Jones spokesman Howard Hoffman confirms that the company's owner would have exclusive rights to the index and its name." Will Murdoch leave the Dow Jones name intact or will CNBC, CNN and others be holding their noses as they quote the from the "FOX Business Channel Industrial Average"?
