Robert McChesney on Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal

To avoid reducing the Wall Street Journal to the level of quality found at other News Corporation holdings, the Bancroft family would be wise to deny Rupert Murdoch in his bid to purchase Dow Jones. Robert McChesney, president of the media reform group Free Press and Gutgsell Endowed Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois, warns that more media concolidation is bad for journalism and even worse for democracy.
