Fox Tidbits: France is Still Wacko and the Economy Must be Great if People are Standing in Line to Buy an iPhone

Reported by Melanie - June 29, 2007 -

No part of Fox's "premiere business news" program, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, is without propaganda, even the 90-second "Fox Stox" segment. One would think that "Fox Stox" would be about stocks but one would be wrong. As in all things Fox, it too is full of propaganda.

Two of Cavuto's "Fox Stox" items caught my eye today (June 29, 2007). One insinuated that we should continue to keep an eye on France, that liberal, out-of-control, Brie-eating nation, despite the fact that it recently elected a new president: Cavuto: "Babs winning praise in Paris. Barbra Streisand awarded with [sic] the Metal of Honor by the French government. France's president telling Barbra Streisand, 'You are the American that we love.'" (Cavuto stares blankly at the camera.)

This is a bad thing because "Babs" is a "liberal." If France's new president has anything good to say about Babs, he must be a liberal too, which, of course, is also bad. As a matter of fact, it's worth hating, so let's get moving on that!

The second tidbit item was a segment Cavuto teased during "Fox Stox" but aired immediately afterward. Cavuto introduced a Wall Street analyst-type, claiming that, "If the economy is so bad, how are people spending money on iPhones?" Cavuto argued that the proof is in the pudding: People wouldn't be willing to stand in line to spend $600-a-pop to buy an iPhone if the economy wasn't doing just fine, thank you very much.

Comment: What? This doesn't follow? Shut down three quarters of your brain and read it again.
