John Gibson inadvertantly reveals casual racism again

Reported by Chrish - June 1, 2007 -

How does "ooga booga fever" contracted in some "god-forsaken hellhole" measure up to "ching chong"? FOX personnel outraged at talk show host/comedienne Rosie O'Donnell doing an impersonation of a Chinese-speaking person can look no further than their colleague John Gibson for the latest racial insensitivty.

During his My Word segment yesterday 5/31/07 Gibson said

"The TB man story has me completely mesmerized. I've been doing this a few years and it seems every time a story pops up about somebody who has suddenly contracted some strange or incurable disease, it's somebody who is either from the Third World or was traveling through some godforsaken hellhole and somehow managed to contract ooga booga fever."

Gibson was just being flip, but so was O'Donnell when she did her impersonation. However, her comments were delivered on a pop talk show, while Gibson's were on his "Big Story" news program.

Add to that it's not is first racially charged remark: he advocated that whites "make more babies" lest the majority of Americans be brown, and in April Media Matters documented him calling Iraqis "knuckle-dragging savages from the 10th century."

Come on, FOX - let's hear how bad John Gibson is, and how News Corp should take him off the air. No?
