McCain's Use of the F Word Gets a Chuckle on Fox (as Did Cheney's)

Reported by Melanie - May 19, 2007 -

Last night (May 18, 2007) during Special Report, at the end of a segment about the bipartisan immigration bill emerging from Capitol Hill, Fox's Major Garrett told viewers about John McCain losing his temper and shouting the "F word" at John Cornyn earlier in the day.

Garrett said:

As this deal was being brokered behind the scenes, Fox News has learned, Republican anger burst forth memorably and loudly. Arizona's John McCain and Texas' John Cornyn argued over the compromise. McCain accused Cornyn of trying to sabotage it. Cornyn told McCain he wasn't around to negotiate -- too busy running for president. McCain, Fox News has been told, used the F word toward Cornyn. We just can't be sure if the F word was a verb or a gerund.

And with that, Garrett chuckled.

Comment: In June of 2004 when Dick Cheney told Pat Leahy (D-VT) to "go fu*k yourself," the God and country folks at Fox thought that was pretty funny too. One can only imagine how different Garrett's tone would have been had a Democrat done this.
