Studio B Mentions Iraq, Not The 124 Dead Iraqis, But The 3 Missing Soldiers

Reported by Donna - May 14, 2007 -

Studio B with Shepard Smith usually shies away from news in Iraq. Today they mentioned Iraq and I thought it might be for all the horrific deaths yesterday, 124 by one report. No, they were on to tell us about the stepped up efforts in looking for 3 missing soldiers.

Yesterday at least 124 Iraqis were killed or found dead in Iraq, making it one of the deadliest days to date. Studio B tries to stay with the fluff and avoids Iraq most of the time so it was something that they were even going to have a segment on it today.

However, they didn't talk about all the carnage that happened in Iraq yesterday, they talked only about the three soldiers that were missing and how 4,000 soldiers were now looking for them.

Comments: It seems the mission in Iraq changes on a daily basis. First it was WMD's, yellow cake uranium, Al Qaeda, 9/11. Then the reason changed to Saddam is an evil man who had killed 10's of thousands. Then a civil uprising began and we found ourselves in the middle of it. Then we find out our war in Iraq has caused the deaths of 10's of thousands of Iraqis. Now, we're on a search and rescue for 3 of our soldiers. What are we doing in Iraq?

Studio B avoids stories of Iraq unless we are on the offense. They don't want to tell you the sad reality of all the deaths that are happening on a daily basis but will gladly tell you when we have 4,000 soldiers searching for 3 missing soldiers. That, my friends, is the positive spin on the war in Iraq because Studio B isn't going to tell you the real truth.
