Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera duke it out over drunk driving

Reported by Chrish - April 5, 2007 -

Geraldo Rivera called Bill O'Reilly out on his exploitation of a drunk-driving tragedy in Virginia Beach, and the two are out of their chairs at each other. With video.

Last night, in a tasteless show of journalistic ambulance chasing, Bill O'Reilly interviewed the father and sister of one of the two teenage victims only hours after the funeral. O'Reilly used the deaths to highlight the alleged illegal immigrant status of the man charged in the deaths, and to go after government officials and law enforcement in Virginia Beach and the state of Virginia for harboring him in the so-called "sanctuary city." O'Reilly has declared war this city and others with similar human rights laws on the books.

Tonight 4/05/07 another FNC program host came on to discuss the case. Rivera cut right to the chase, that the case is about the tragedy of drunk driving and should nt be used to further O'Reilly's anti-illegal immigration crusade. Both men got very angry and it looked at times like they were going to come to blows.

After the angry, loud exchange, they both realized they had gone overboard and tried to wrap the segment up on a civil note. Rivera took the opportunity to talk about how fair and balanced FOX is, to be able to present both sides of an issue like that. Yeah, that's the ticket.

This was just ugly, folks, like the worst of the Radio Factor in living color. Papa Bear's nice folk persona was laid bare for his rocking chair audience and snarling Billy took center stage. It's getting more and more like WWE.
