Outrageous Quote of the Week - Week of March 25th

Reported by Marie Therese - April 3, 2007 -

The winner of last week's poll was White House Press Secretary Tony Snow who took top honors with a whopping 57% of the votes for this less-than-accurate statement about Congressional oversight:

"Congress doesn't have any legitimate oversight responsibility on the White House." – Fox & Friends, 3/22/07

(Sadly, later in the week it was revealed that Mr. Snow is fighting a recurrance of his colon cancer. We continue to wish him a speedy recovery.)

Latest offerings are below the fold.

MARK LEVIN, conservative talk show host: "Don't agree with what this House is doing! And that's why (raises voice) even the Democrats don't agree!! 'Ya had to spread around $25 billion dollars and our hard-earned money for all kinds of crap that had nothing to do with the war!!!!!"

JANE FLEMING, Young America Voter PAC: "It's not crap. So, do you think farmers and ranchers who have lost ...".

SEAN HANNITY, FOX News host: "It had no place in this bill."

LEVIN: "I'm sick of subsidizing 'em!!!"

FLEMING: "... a lot of crops and head of cattle."

LEVIN: "That's exactly right!! ... It is crap!!! I'm sick of it!!"

Hannity's America, 3/25/07

OPTION B: “(Rosie O'Donnell) has no right to speak. I hope (Kirsten Powers) doesn’t say a clown, a fool, a deranged activist like Rosie has a right to speak … ABC must agree with Tokyo Rosie by putting her on. This is a gay rights activist who’s a fat slob and she’s mentally ill.” - conservative radio talk show host, Bill Cunningham discussing Rosie O'Donnell's comments on The View, Hannity & Colmes, 3/29/07

OPTION C: "I run BillO'Reilly.com, and we get an enormous amount (of comments) ... and this wouldn't have been up ... 15 minutes on my site. Because we have people policing, every second of 24 hours, to make sure this stuff doesn't get up." - Bill O'Reilly berating HuffPo editor Matt Sekoff about an 8-hour lapse before offensive post was changed, The O'Reilly Factor, 3/30/07

However, from Bill's website:

OPTION D: "Cut her mic." - Bill O'Reilly to guest U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.) Ann Wright, after she said she had served 29 years and asked him how long he had served, The O'Reilly Factor, 3/30/07
