Neil Cavuto Gives Wal-Mart's CEO Almost as Much Time as He Gave George W. Bush

Reported by Melanie - March 27, 2007 -

We all know that the average television "interview" last three to four minutes, right? Well Lee Scott, the CEO of Wal-Mart, was Neil Cavuto's guest today (March 27, 2006) on Your World. Cavuto advertised Scott's appearance three times during yesterday's show and it was indeed a big deal. Scott appeared for three -- yes, three -- segments, totaling 19 minutes. The last time Cavuto interviewed George Bush I think he was on for something like 22 minutes.

If you want to watch Fox's 19-minute infomercial for Wal-Mart, you can see it here.

As an added bonus, check out this huge headline* that sat atop Fox's "business news" homepage this afternoon. Below it, in small print, was this: "Stocks Dip on Economic Worries."

Comment: It's pretty clear to me what Fox does and doesn't want you to see or know.

* The headline will be gone in hours so here it is: "$272.9 Million for Charity - Oft-maligned Wal-Mart defended its title as most generous corporate-giver in dollar terms in 2006, increasing its donations by 10 percent."
