'Capitol Hill Catfights' Only Among Dems

Reported by Judy - March 26, 2007 -

Members of Congress never disagree, according to the Fox News morning show. They brawl, they fight like cats, and they're always Democrats. With video.

The co-hosts of "Fox and Friends" on Monday (March 26, 2007) promoted a regular segment called "Capitol Hill Catfights," highlighting disagreements among House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and anti-war Democrats, and a dispute between Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Rep. David Obey.

The segment did not bring up divisions within the Republican Party over the involvement of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in the firings of eight U.S. attorneys. Co-host Gretchen Carlson promoted a segment later in the show about Gonzales, but it was not included as a "catfight" within the GOP Party.

Portraying Democrats as "divided" and in "disarray" and Republicans as all united behind the president is part of the Fox News agenda of undermining Democrats as untrustworthy and unable to govern.
