Is Mitt Romney A Flip Flopper?

Reported by Donna - March 14, 2007 -

Studio B with Shepard Smith just started a new segment called 'You Decide 2008' at 8 minutes after the hour into the show. Today he had from the right, Carrie Lukas, from the Independent Women's Forum and Democratic Strategist, Julie Roginsky. Smith was interested in the stand of Mitt Romney when it came to illegal immigration.

Roginsky said that Romney was a flip flopper, that he had changed from a northeast liberal governor all the way to the right of everyone when it came to illegal immigration. Lukas agreed that Romney was a flip flopper. Smith asked her if Republicans think we need a border fence. Lukas danced around her answer and Smith said she wasn't answering the question. He asked if we needed to build a fence between Canada and the U.S. and around the ocean property, too?

Roginsky pointed out that some of the 9/11 hijackers had come through Canada and that now Romney was to the right of McCain who she said had a good immigration plan even though she didn't agree much with John McCain.

Before they could continue the discussion they were interrupted by breaking news. Studio B went to the John Couey trial where closing arguments were being held in his sentencing.

Comment: This was a good segment that was interrupted and cut short. Seems like the Republicans are having a hard time putting forth a real conservative candidate for president. Kudos to Smith who tried asking the hard question to the Republican guest but not getting an answer or opportunity to push it further.
