Update - Jim Gilliam caught on tape

Reported by Chrish - February 13, 2007 -

It has been twelve days since Jim's double lung transplant and he is doing very well! He's still in ICU at UCLA but making great progress and may be going home as soon as next week. In his own words:

"I feel awesome!

"I just got off the ventilator again, so I am breathing just through the trach collar…which means I now can use the voicebox and actually speak!! I can’t speak much yet, but I can’t even tell you how great I feel right now.

"There will be more setbacks before I get out of the hospital, and in the months to come, but that’s what makes things like breathing and speaking so wonderful.

"Next milestone: eating!

"This is my first post since the transplant. I have my blackberry now, and have been reading some of your comments on the blog. Thank you so much for rooting for me and caring so much, I will always remember."

We are all so happy to see Jim doing so well and feeling so great, and we are ever so grateful to his parents Maggie and Jim for keeping us up-to-date.

Jim is feeling SO good, he can't resist doing a happy dance! Check out his first movie production since the operation.
