Clueless Ann Coulter Says Iraq Is Like California, “You Have The Crips And The Bloods In Baghdad”

Reported by Ellen - January 18, 2007 -

Voting fraud suspect Ann Coulter seems to be as clueless about the Iraq war as she is about how to lawfully register to vote. Last night (1/17/07) on Hannity & Colmes, Coulter made several ridiculously false statements about the Iraq war as she insisted to Alan Colmes that it’s going well. With video.

Perhaps Coulter’s crush on Colmes kept her from thinking straight. As the video shows, the middle-aged (and never-married) Coulter lit up as soon as Colmes joined the discussion. However, when he questioned her unfounded assertions, she instantly faded.

Democrat Jane Fleming (my favorite FOX News Democrat) argued against a troop surge by pointing out that we have already had two surges and that it did not help.

Coulter interrupted to say sardonically, “It’s working just fine.”

Fleming continued, “We are losing Americans and Iraqis every day.”

“No, we aren’t,” Coulter said.

Fleming, astounded, asked, “We’re not losing Americans every day, Ann?”

“No, we aren’t at all,” she falsely said. Coulter might want to double-check her facts. As of January 17, 2007, 22 Americans have died in Iraq this month. That averages out to more than one a day.

“You live in never-never land,” Fleming told her.

Colmes asked Coulter, “When George W. Bush says over and over again, ‘Stay the course, stay the course, stay the course,’ then he says we’re not staying the course. Then he comes up with the new phrase, ‘a new way forward.’ How is that not a flip-flop?”

Coulter could not answer. In fact, Coulter can never answer any questions that she has not prepared for. She stared stupidly into the camera before responding with gobbledygook. “This is what I mean about liberals’ objections just being pointless chit-chat.”

Colmes pressed her for an answer which she was unable to provide. With her theatrical exasperation, she complained about liberals saying “We’re losing, we’re losing, we’re losing.”

Coulter must have forgotten (the same way she forgot her correct address when she registered to vote) that the Iraq Study Group, which warned that the situation in Iraq was “grave and deteriorating,” (page 6 of their report) was composed of such non-liberals as James Baker, Ed Meese and Alan Simpson.

“Are you saying we’re doing well?” Colmes asked.

Yes, she was. “The number of American deaths have been going down every year,” Coulter peevishly asserted.

In fact, the ISG report (P. 10) says “October 2006 was the deadliest month for US forces since January 2005, with 102 Americans killed. Total attacks (against Americans) in October 2006 averaged 180 per day, up from 70 a day from January 2006... Violence is increasing in scope, complexity and lethality.”

Colmes asked, “Where are the successes in the Bush Iraq policy?”

Once again, she looked blankly into the camera before fumbling for a response. “Basically, um, it is like California with Baghdad as LA with Hispanics, white and blacks.” She added, “You have the Crips and the Bloods in Baghdad. That’s where all the fighting is,” she erroneously said. Page 11 of the ISG report states, “Four of Iraq’s eighteen provinces are highly insecure – Baghdad, Anbar, Diyala and Salah ad Din.

Oh, and how many car bombs and IED’s are there in LA, Ann?
