Carlson Earns 'Worst Person' Award

Reported by Judy - January 11, 2007 -

Fox News' Gretchen Carlson has only been co-host of "Fox and Friends" for a few months, but she already has earned one of the most coveted, and deserved, awards that could go to any Fox News "journalist." With video.

Carlson on Wednesday (January 10, 2007) won top honors in Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" competition for her comment earlier in the day that Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-MA, was a "hostile enemy" because of his speech calling for a Senate vote on George Bush's plan to send more troops to Iraq.

The comment was so over the top that White House Counselor Dan Bartlett responded that the administration did not view Kennedy in that light.

Carlson's win is all the more surprising, given the stiff competition that she faces. Bill O'Reilly is generally the front-runner for Olbermann's daily shaming. So for the inexperienced Carlson to walk away with the gold is quite a feat.

Unfortunately, it probably won't be her last achievement.
