Fox Trashes Ted Kennedy Over Universal Health Care - Doesn't Mention Schwarzenegger

Reported by Melanie - January 10, 2007 -

One of the segments that aired today (January 10, 2007) on Your World w/Neil Cavuto was captioned, "National 'Ted-Care'?" The segment was Fox's ode to a speech Ted Kennedy (D-MA), gave yesterday calling for universal health care.

Substitute host David Asman's guests were three employees of Forbes magazine.

Steve Forbes, as usual, spewed forth the same right wing BS we've been hearing for more than a decade: "It's a non-starter...socialized health care does not work...Canada...months to get treatment." He even said that the health care provided by the Veteran's Administration amounts to, "a mini-Canada."

Asman was there backing him up, chiming in that Great Britain's "socialized" health care is a mess and telling the audience that former Canadian PM Brian Mulroney sent his mother to the U.S. for treatment.

Quentin Hardy and Victoria Barret were much more sympathetic toward those Americans who don't have or can't afford health care but all-in-all, the point was made -- Fox nemesis, uber-liberal-psycho Ted Kennedy is on the socialist warpath again and we'd all do best to watch our backsides lest he and his ilk take over the country in the dead of night.

Funny thing about this segment -- Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Republican governor of California also gave a speech yesterday and he called for universal health care too...but his name didn't come up.
