Fox Guest Says Bush Doesn't Get Picture In Iraq

Reported by Donna - December 11, 2006 -

Today on Studio B with Shepard Smith, he had guest Andy Grotto from the Center for American Progress. At question was the president's new approach to the war in Iraq.

Grotto said that it didn't seem that the president got it. He said that the president was marginalizing the Iraq Study Group which had the only non partisan study on Iraq. There are three more studies coming from the State Department, the Defense Department and the National Security Department.

Grotto also said that President Bush had not changed his mind over the past four years on his view of Iraq. He also added that he thought the president thought that Iraq needed a band aid when what it really needed was major surgery.

Comment: Kudos to Shepard Smith and this brave report on how the president really feels about the Iraq Study Group. Sounds like the president is going to cherry pick what he wants to use in the future dealings with the war on Iraq.

Grotto told it like it was -- the president thinks a band aid will solve all the problems in Iraq, but it will take major surgery. What it does show is a president totally out of touch on what is going on in Iraq.
