Fox Works to Brainwash its Viewers Into Thinking They're Prospering
Reported by Melanie - November 30, 2006 -
Stuart Varney, substituting for Neil Cavuto on Your World today, introduced a roundtable discussion this afternoon (November 30, 2006) on the state of the middle class with this:
Alright. Is the middle class movin' on up? The media may be jumping all over the fact that Wal-Mart's sales slipped this month for the first time in a decade, but sales are up at Saks, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus, all high-end retailers. Is that proof the middle class has more cash on hand?
The three panelists couldn't agree on whether the middle class is doing better or not but the discussion served to continue Fox's "business news" mantra of late: That the "liberal media" is so intent on bringing George Bush down that it only reports bad economic news and, as a result, the middle class has no idea the extent to which it is prospering.
