Never Mind That the Army Times Says Rumsfeld Must Go -- Neil Cavuto's Big Worry is Whether the Troops Support Hillary Clinton

Reported by Melanie - November 6, 2006 -

Neil Cavuto interviewed Condoleezza Rice live today (November 6, 2006) for 19 uninterrupted minutes. (Unlike Bush and Cheney, Rice at least had the cojones to be interviewed live.) The first 16 minutes or so consisted of talk about Iraq and how things are going as well as can be expected there, it being a "young democracy" and all. From there Cavuto moved on to Cuba, North Korea, and Iran for roughly another four minutes before getting to this:

I know you don't like to be asked things political or to deal with them. I just want your opinion on Hillary Clinton and whether she commands the respect of the troops.

Rice:

Ah, look, I am not going to talk about individual...

Cavuto:

You've been very complementary of her in the past.

Rice:

I know Senator Clinton...

Cavuto:

Does she?

Rice:

I know Senator Clinton. I think highly of her. Not only do I think highly of her but in fact I know her well because she was a Stanford mother and I know her and I know her daughter, but it's not for me to comment on political candidates.

Comment: What?! Despite not mentioning it during his show today, Cavuto's worried about whether HILLARY CLINTON commands the respect of the troops on the very day the Army Times, Air Force Times, Marine Times, and the Navy Times called on George Bush to can Donald Rumsfeld? These guys are so desperate not to talk about Republicans that their shows are becoming more like Comedy Central than Comedy Central. Then again, Pravda comes to mind too.
