Olbermann Talks To Robert Greenwald About New Film: Iraq For Sale
Reported by Deborah - September 19, 2006 -
Robert Greenwald appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann tonight to talk about his new documentary,Iraq for Sale-The War Profiteers. The release of Greenwalds film coincides with the Halliburton hearings in Washington this week and Greenwald had a lot to contribute to the issue during the interview.
Greenwald brought up an excellent point, usually overlooked, that the contractors working side by side with our troops make 3 or 4 times more money. This can really damage morale.
Then Olbermann showed a very moving clip of a contractor brought to tears discussing the contaminated water provided by Halliburton. Halliburton denied this charge recently but there was no way anyone could doubt the testimony in the film clip.
Olbermann wanted to know what would change if the Democrats took over in November. Greenwald said there would be investigations and "hell to pay" because that's what happens in a democracy. Greenwald added that when laws are broken there must be consequences.
Iraq for Sale should be seen by everyone before this election. It will remind Democrats that their vote is crucial and convince the undecided voters that new leadership is absolutely essential.
