Attacking Democrats for Partisanship on 9/11

Reported by Janie - September 12, 2006 -

During the 9/11 memoriam on "Special Report" last night (9/11), Fox News Correspondent Wendell Goler filed a generic report on the state of America in the 5 years following the September 11th attacks. Goler discussed how divided we've become in today's society - and pinned the blame on the shoulders of Democrats.

WG: "New York Governor George Pataki told Fox News he longs for what got us through the 9/11 attack."

GP: "There were no Republicans or Democrats, Christian or Jew, black or white, we were all Americans on that day and in the weeks thereafter,"

WG: "Democrats, too, spoke of recapturing that feelings. Election year politics put on hold, if only for a day."

Goler is allowing Pataki, a Republican, to display his desire for a more unified country, but when Democrats make the same claim it boils down to "election year politics put on hold."

Goler received no rebuke for his biased statement, and the segment concluded there.
