Fox Dismisses Federal Judge Decision On Warrantless Wiretaps As - It's Oregon, They're Liberal

Reported by Donna - September 7, 2006 -

Today on Studio B with Trace Gallagher substituting for Shepard Smith he had a segment on the warrantless wiretapping program. He said a decision had come down from a Federal Judge, rejecting White House pleas to dismiss the warrantless wiretap program.

Gallagher immediately went after the judge, saying he was a liberal and Gallagher was basically a Bush apologist for the wireless wiretap program.

He said that the judge was from Oregon and the judges in Oregon tended to be liberal. (Comment; Yes, like liberal is a bad word) He also added that the terrorist plot overseas would not have been broken up if they hadn't been able to tap cell phones.

Comment: Does Fox let us know everytime a conservative judge makes a decision and claim it's because they are conservative? And bringing up the UK terrorist plot overseas is unfair because no one, no one has said you cannot wiretap these phones. Only that they conform with the law of the land and get the required warrants.

Once again Fox delivers the news the Fox way, or the Bush administration way, disregarding a Federal Judges decision because he is supposedly from a liberal part of the country. And falsely saying that the UK plot wouldn't have been exposed without a warrantless wiretap program. That's just untrue - the plot could have been uncovered with a wiretap that was obtained with a proper warrant within 72 hours of the wiretap being done.
