Fox News Broadcasts Plea by Kidnap Victim's Wife

Reported by Judy - August 18, 2006 -

Fox News on Friday (August 18, 2006) broadcast a plea for the return of its two kidnapped employees made by the wife of one of the men.

Amy Kellogg. reporting from Jerusalem during "Dayside," said that Anita McNaught made a public appeal for information on her husband, camerman Olaf Wiig and reporter Steve Centanni, but Kellogg did not say when and where the appeal was made.

"If somebody knows any information, can they please tell us because I want him home so much." McNaught said.

"He and his colleague Steve don't deserve this. They are good men. They are good men and they should be allowed to come home."

Kellogg also reported that the Palestinian Journalist Syndicate also has made an appeal for their release which has been posted on Al Jazeera's website -- ironic given the disdain with which Fox News holds Al Jazeera.

Kellogg said the appeal calls on the Palestinian president to intervene and called the kidnapping "a cowardly act that ultimately harms the reputation of the Palestinian people and their cause."
