Fox Uses Pat Robertson as a News Source re Israel's War on Hezbollah

Reported by Melanie - August 9, 2006 -

Fox gave Pat Robertson some airtime today (August 9, 2006) on its "business news" program, Your World w/Cavuto. Robertson -- who was on during the first 15 minutes, 30 minutes before Cavuto aired the "Fox Stox" segment -- appeared from Israel where he is to "lend support" for the war on Hezbollah.

At the end of the segment, Cavuto, the crack, fact-finding journalist that he is, said:

Let me ask you, ah, reverend, as a very deep, loyal and widely respected Christian, do you see this in terms of good versus evil?

Robertson's faith-based response was:

As, I do think without question, it's a spiritual battle. Ah, Islam is a religion and at least one branch of it thinks that the goal of Islam is world domination. And, therefore, their religion, that's what Islam means is submission, submission to their religion. On the other hand, we have the Judeo-Christian tradition and the tradition of freedom that has characterized western civilization for so many centuries. I believe this is the clash between the two and I think my friend Bebe Netanyahu, who preceeded me on this broadcast, said it right: This is a struggle for Western civilization.

Emphasis added.

And with that, the segment ended, leaving this so-called "news" on the table for Fox's audience to ponder during the commercial break that followed.
