Those Opposed to the Iraq War (a Majority of U.S. Citizens) Pigeon Holed Again
Reported by Melanie - August 8, 2006 -
Despite the fact that a majority of Americans believe that invading Iraq was a mistake and they want a timetable to be set to pull our troops out, the MSM is still painting that crowd as a small, nutty, far-left fringe group as was the case today (August 8, 2006) on Your World w/Cavuto during a segment featuring Mitch McConnell (R-Ky).
McConnell was on to state his case for stationing NATO forces, not UN or other forces, along the Israel-Lebanon border. Cavuto moved from that to the November elections, asking McConnell if he thought the Republicans would retain a majority.
McConnell said he thought they would retain a majority in the Senate but he wasn't sure about the House. He said, "It is a contentious atmosphere. I wish the President's approval rating were better than it is and that's not a plus for us."
Cavuto then asked McConnell what he thought about Joe Lieberman's "predicament."
McConnell said, "[I]t looks to me like the McGovern wing of the Democratic party is staging a comeback in Connecticut and we'll find out tonight just how significant that is. It's a problem for Joe Lieberman short term and I think it's a problem for Democrats long term."
Comment: McConnell can't see the forest for the trees. That "contentious atmosphere" coupled with Bush's low poll ratings could indicate that the "McGovern wing" of the Republican party might be staging a comeback too, which could pose a "problem" for all the prostitutes in Washington. Let us pray.
