FOX's Cost of Freedom Financial Shows Are a Joke!

Reported by Marie Therese - July 30, 2006 -

Week in and week out for two years News Hounds have reported on how little FOX News' financial shows actually have to do with true market economics. Yesterday was no exception. In fact, the whole "Special Mideast Turmoil" edition was a farce. In the entire two hours from 10 AM to 12 Noon, FOX's Neil Cavuto spent a TOTAL of 16 minutes - 4 minutes each half-hour - speaking with the usual crew of FOX News Business Analysts. The remaining time was spent interviewing a steady stream of Israelis and pro-Israeli Americans all of whom, naturally, supported Israel's latest explanation for the high number of civilians deaths.

The Israeli position can best be summed up by a quote made by Israeli Justice Minister Haim Ramon made last Thursday. Speaking about civilians who still remain in the areas north of Israel, Ramon said, "[All] those in south Lebanon are terrorists who are related in some way to Hezbollah," said Ramon. He added, "In order to prevent casualties among Israeli soldiers battling Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon, villages should be flattened by the Israeli air force before ground troops move in."

The only thing Cavuto did yesterday was carry water for the Bush administration's support for the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. When a few of the paid analysts dared to claim that the market had factored in the middle east situation and was far more concerned with the Fed, interest rates and earnings, Cavuto would call on one of the gung-ho rah-rah analysts who would promptly regurgitate the Bushite talking points.

One wonders why the FOX viewers haven't caught on yet?
