Fair and Balanced Out the Window on 'Dayside'

Reported by Judy - July 11, 2006 -

Somebody forgot to tell the Fox News' "Dayside" crew that "fair and balanced" is the company mantra. Or maybe they have a different understanding of "fair and balanced" than the rest of the world.

On Tuesday (July 11, 2006), "Dayside" co-hosts Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy played the entire ad of the homo-phobic, xenophobic Vernon Robinson, the Republican candidate for Congress in the 13th District of North Carolina. Not just a snippet of it, but the entire ad. Shouldn't that count as a campaign contribution?

Jerrick and Huddy then went on to do a telephone interview with Robinson., during which they allowed him to distribute his campaign web site, another freebie.

"Dayside" failed to interview the Democrat in the race, Rep. Brad Miller, or anyone on his campaign staff, or even a Democratic consultant from elsewhere in the country.

So what exactly does "fair and balanced" mean in such a context?
