Bernard Goldberg Calls CBS “The Manson Family”
Reported by Ellen - June 21, 2006
In another example of FOX News’ fair and balanced guest bookings, Hannity & Colmes hosted Bernard Goldberg last night (6/20/06) as the sole guest to discuss Dan Rather’s departure from CBS. During his brief, but hate-filled appearance, Bernard Goldberg got in a number of digs at his former employer, but denied he had an axe to grind.
Goldberg told Alan Colmes, “CBS talks a lot about the CBS News family. But when you see something like this, what’s happening today, that after 44 years of covering every major story of our time, you realize that it really is a family. It’s the Manson family.”
Later, after insisting that Rather was let go because he was unpopular, not because a conservative drumbeat pushed him out, Goldberg told Colmes “I am a former employee but not a disgruntled one.” Then he added, “You can’t name one liberal who’s ever lost his job at any network because of bias. Not one.”
Comment: If you don't think Dan Rather did, what about Phil Donohue?
