Outrageous Quote of the Week - Week of May 21

Reported by Janie - May 30, 2006

For the first time since we've begun the Outrageous Quote of the Week poll, we have a tie! Regular hate-speech provider Ann Coulter was a "winner" this week, along with first-timer Mort Kondrake. To see the shocking comments that you voted for, along with this week's choice of insane ranting, take a peek below the fold!

With 34% of the vote: “Ummm, yes we also live in a free and open democratic society where you’re innocent until proved guilty – something that liberals only honor in the case of serial killers and child molesters.” - Ann Coulter, Hannity & Colmes, 5-18-06

Also taking in 34% of the vote: "And, you know, for a company to opt out and say no, no, no, we're too privacy minded for this, it's basically helping terrorists. I think Senator Pat Roberts is absolutely right. What's going on know is shocking. I mean, people are treating the Constitution of the United States as a suicide pact." - Mort Kondrake on Qwest not providing information to the NSA without a warrant, Special Report with Brit Hume, 5-17-06

Now, here are this week's options:

Option A: "You know that – some would argue – is not necessarily a sign of rape so much as a sign of premenstrual syndrome or something like that." - Megyn Kendall's diagnosis of the Duke rape accuser, Hannity & Colmes, 5-22-06

Option B: "If Americans, especially American leaders, would stand together, would stand behind our military, would stand behind the mission, we, I believe, would be much closer to complete victory over there and having a much more stable Iraq." - Senator John Ensign, Your World with Neil Cavuto, 5-23-06

Option C: "Most people you've talked to, well, we haven't seen any polling on this but I see my email, they say 'wait a minute..." - John Gibson on the American reaction to Congress' united front against FBI search of Jefferson's office, The Big Story, 5-25-06

Option D: "We have a preponderance of speakers on the left-side of the political aisle that dominate commencement but yet, when John McCain and Condoleezza Rice speak at The New School in New York or Boston College, the liberals on campus - professors and students - get their little pink panties in the world's most biggest wad and they have these irrational hissy fits." - Jason Mattera, spokesperson for the Young America's Foundation, discussing his organization's study showing that 70% of 2006 commencement addresses were given by liberal speakers, Fox & Friends, 5-27-06

Option E: "The corruption was running amuck in those years when he was in office." - Neil Cavuto blaming former President Bill Clinton for the Enron scandal involving Bush's personal friend Ken Lay, Your World with Neil Cavuto, 5-27-06
