What's Tony Snow Doing On Hannity's Radio Show?
Reported by Deborah - May 17, 2006
Now that Tony Snow has started his job as White House Press Secretary, it seemed rather inappropriate for him to be a guest today on Sean Hannity's radio show. Hannity did ask Snow some personal questions about how he felt in his new job but there were also a few plugs for the President slipped in during the conversation. 5/17/06
Hannity joked about Snow leaving FOX to argue with Helen Thomas each day and commented about Snow's inabiity to express his own opinions now that he's away from FOX.
Snow told Hannity how welcome his opinions were at the White House noting that " nobody is asked to check their opinions at the door". He added that President Bush has addressed all the concerns that matter to the American people but he doesn't think that message is reaching the public through the press.
Then Hannity talked about Snow's bout with cancer and how that contributed to Snow taking the job. Snow talked about the great honor of serving the President and made his dedication to his new role seem like part of an epiphany experienced during his illness. Together they made Snow's job seem like a spiritual mission to save the struggling administration and Snow emerged as the dedicated public servant who felt blessed to have the opportunity to sacrifice his lucrative career for the greater good.
Hannity invited Snow to return anytime and unfortunately, I'm sure he will.
