Fox Guest Sen Kay Bailey Hutchinson - New Tape On 9/11 Plane That Hit Pentagon Will Show People Why We Need NSA Program
Reported by Donna - May 17, 2006
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-Texas) was a guest on Fox News Live with Bill Hemmer (12 - 1 p.m.) yesterday. She reiterated over and over again that the new release of these tapes that supposedly show the nose of the plane before it hit the Pentagon on 9/11 would remind the American people of why the NSA surveillance program was necessary.
She said people would remember the horrible scene and people will see why we are so intent on doing everything. She said that it wasn't a domestic program it was "known terrorist suspects goting to terrorists."
She repeated the Republican mantra about it being a very different kind of war and we needed to see what kind of "mischief was going on in America."
Comments: The sole purpose of this guest was to present the Republican talking point of why the president is using the NSA wiretap program which he doesn't get warrants for. It's not unusual for Republicans and Fox to resort to using 9/11 as a rallying point for many of the things that they do. The president himself leans on 9/11 in most of the speeches he gives, especially when it comes to the NSA wiretap program.
