Cavuto Says Suck it Up About Being Spied on or Face a Mushroom Cloud

Reported by Melanie - May 11, 2006

Sound familiar?

Neil Cavuto delivers a sort of op ed piece at the end of all of his Your World w/Cavuto shows. The segment is called "Common Sense" and Fox touts it as the time when Cavuto "officially" expresses his opinion, obscuring the fact that he expresses his opinion, usually in the form of a question ending with, "What do you make of that?" many (many, many) times during the hour-long program.

Today's "Common Sense" segment was titled, "Protecting the Homeland and our Privacy." Fox promoted it on Cavuto's web site with the headline: "Collecting our phone records sure beats collecting our remains." In it, Cavuto justified the NSA's telephone record dragnet by invoking the two words the Bush administration uses when it's in a panic: MUSHROOM CLOUD.

When freaked out, invoke the cloud.
