BS Story on the Big Story allows FOX to show babes in bikinis
Reported by Chrish - May 11, 2006
In the daily dose of sexually-oriented "news" on the Big Story today 5/11/06, Jane Skinner reported on a Florida teacher, Erica Chevillar, who was in danger of losing her job because pictures had sufaced of her posing in a bikini and in lingerie while she was a college student. The school board was investigating whether she had violated a broad policy requiring teachers to behave in "moral and ethical "manner.
Apparently a parent complained about the pictures, prompting the investigation. Skinner's guest, defense attorney Michelle Suskauer, argued that the policy was overbroad, the pictures were not obscene by any standard, and they were taken before Chevillar joined the faculty.
After the interview Gibson remarked that he hadn't been paying attention, meant to be a joke to convey that he had been watching the video that accompanied much of the segment. The USA National Bikini Team (who knew?) apparently has a website and FOX slowly scrolled down pages of young women in bikinis and lingerie as the two women in the studio talked behind it.
At the very end it was announced that the story was breaking on the Palm Beach Post: the teacher will not be disciplined.
Comment: Fluff. An opportunity to show busty scantily clad barely legal women, appealing to the repressed and/or arrested development crowd who frequents FOX. Why Jane Skinner continues to do these segments is beyond me - she is so much better than that.
Still no word on Diebold.
