Iran Nuke Showdown - Take 384

Reported by Donna - May 2, 2006

Of course my title - Iran Nuke Showdown - Take 384 is a made up number - or is it? Maybe it just seems like take 384. Today on Studio B with Shepard Smith we again had Iran Nuke Showdown splashed across the screen and ominous music and this time a threat from Iran. It seems that Iran said they made more discoveries of uranium deposits.

Smith went to Greg Palkot who was in Paris to cover the U.N. The U.N. is gathering in Paris to speak about Iran's Nuclear Program.

Palkot says that Iran said if the U.S. did anything evil to Iran that Israel would be targeted first. Fox repeated the often repeated phrase that the military option has never been taken off the table by the president.

Comment: We can't let a day pass without an 'Iran Nuke Showdown' segment. I think that Fox is attempting the deflect and attack technique they use just as well as this administration does. Deflect all the bad news going on in the world (or, you can talk about them but don't link them to the president. Pain at the pump - not the president's fault!) and attack on the fear factor - Iran having nuclear power.

The problem is - I don't know if this is going to work anymore. Sometimes I start to think that it's all becoming a case of overkill and people are simply getting tired of hearing the same old fear factor stories and would like to hear some real workable plans to help them in their lives.
