Special Report Ignores the Democrats Plan Once Again

Reported by Janie - April 26, 2006

Yesterday (4/25) on "Special Report with Brit Hume", Fox White House Correspondent Carl Cameron filed a report on President Bush's desire to begin an investigation into price gouging by oil companies. The segment strayed and discussed other developments, but not once mentioned that the Democrats have an idea to bring down gas prices immediately.

During the segment, Cameron chose to show a clip of Republican Senator Bill Frist saying there is no "Silver Bullet" to instantly bring down gas prices, but Cameron neglected to mention the Democrats have a plan that would bring gas prices down instantly by at least 18 cents per gallon.

According to Rawstory.com, Democratic Senator Bob Menendez is set to introduce a measure that would create a "federal gas tax holiday" by temporarily suspending the federal gas tax for 60 days.

To make up the funds, Democrats propose to cut the $6 billion in corporate welfare (tax breaks) given to the same oil firms that are raking in record profits.

Fox, of course, refused to mention this fact throughout the segment because it would possibly portray Democrats in a positive light to their viewers.
