It Was Inevitable: Fox Links Clintons to Duke Lacrosse Team Sex Scandal

Reported by Melanie - April 23, 2006

The first segment on Saturday night's (April 22, 2006) Heartland w/John Kasich was about the Duke Lacross team sex scandal. Kasich's guests were Karen Russell, identified as a "legal analyst," and Peter J. Johnson, a Fox News employee identified as a "Fox legal analyst." The title of the segment was "Crime, Race or Politics in Duke Scandal," and the discussion was about how the two sides will present their case if the matter goes to trial.

Kacish's last question (the one the audience is most likely to remember) was for Johnson. Kasich wondered if the prosecution would be able to "go up effectively against these high-powered attorneys" the two boys thus charged have hired.

Johnson responded:

He's an experienced prosecutor but you've got to understand that the Clinton spin machine is at work here and they're spinning the same thing that was spun before - that lying about sex may not be a crime.

Comment: I almost died laughing! These guys have absolutely no imagination but, there you have it. You know you're watching a right wing channel when it drags the Clintons into something like this because, according to the right, the Clintons are to blame, one way or another, for everything that goes wrong.
