Minutemen Issue Challenge to Bush: Build a Border Wall or We'll Do It!
Reported by Marie Therese - April 21, 2006
Yesterday morning FOX & Friends' host Edith Ann "E.D." Hill announced that the Minutemen, a radical anti-immigrant organization, have issued an ultimatum to the President. She said, "Meanwhile, the Minutemen are saying to the President 'Stop illegals. We know how to do it. Build a wall and if that - if you're not going to, we will' - because people are saying to them 'Come on to my property and do it.'"
She went on to report that local residents of Arizona, distressed over what they perceive to be a threat to the safety and security of our nation, have agreed to allow the Minutemen to build fences along their property lines, which abut the border with Mexico. A local contractor has made the claim that he can do it for $125.00 a foot, a figure that the other F&F hosts found very reasonable.
COMMENT
My question to the federal government is this: What are you going to do about the rise of privately funded militias in the Southwest and elsewhere? When is the Department of Justice going to crack down on this Minuteman group and others like it?
These people are nothing more than the "white supremacist" crowd with a new scapegoat. It's not the Jews or the Communists any longer. It's the "immigrants" by which, of course, they mean Mexicans.
In today's world, the people in power, aided and abetted by a compliant media, are doing nothing to rein in such militias, which is the natural consequence when people like the Minutemen are your constituents and you need their votes to stay in power.
