Fox News Alert: Iran's President "Intends to Bring Us Down"
Reported by Melanie - April 21, 2006
Neil Cavuto ended the first segment of Your World today (April 21, 2006) with a "Fox News Alert." Appearing with a graphic over his shoulder that read, "Nuclear Showdown," Cavuto said this:
Meanwhile, a Fox News alert for ya. As we've been talking, a chilling assessment today on just how close Iran is to apparently having that nuclear weapon, or weapons. A State Department official saying we are very close to the point of no return. Undersecretary for Political Affairs Nick Burns says there is now a sense of urgency among countries on the UN Security Council and in the G8. (Emphasis in original.)
Cavuto then aired a report by Amy Kellogg about Iran's economy. During Kellogg's report, Fox aired a chyron that read:
Iran's Economy Feeling Heat of Nuclear Showdown
After Kellogg's report, Cavuto turned to frequent guest Alexander Haig for a segment titled, "Will Iran Respond to Anything Other Than Force?"
During that segment, Haig said that Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, "Is at war with the United States and intends to bring us down..."
Comment: As the crazies push for an attack on Iran and ratchet up the exaggerations as to the threat it poses, cement this in your mind and try not to forget it: Iran Is Judged 10 Years From Nuclear Bomb.
