Cavuto Cries "Class Warfare" & Defends Wealthy, White, Duke Lacrosse Team Members

Reported by Melanie - April 20, 2006

The third segment today (April 20, 2006) on Fox's "premiere business news" program, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, was about the Duke University Lacross team rape case (now that's business news!). The title of the segment was, "Is Cla$$ Warfare Fueling Rape Investigation?"

In his first ever segment about the case, Cavuto expressed extreme concern for the boys who have been charged because "the kids' wealth" keeps "being brought up." He ranted that adding the economic status of those wealthy white boys to the picture smelled of "cla$$ warfare" (one of Fox's graphics) to him. Never mind, of course, that he was in the midst of adding it to the picture too.

At the end, after having made his point - that the rich (who are predominantly white) deserve more consideration than the rest of us (just like he did on Monday), he hilariously tried to defend airing the segment in the first place. He said: The "whole economic angle is what interests me."

Yeah sure Neil.

In a year and a half I don't remember hearing Kneel-Cave-ut-Ho invoke the "class warfare" defense when talking about poor, black Americans like - for example - the residents of New Orleans.
