President Calls Himself 'The Decider'
Reported by Donna - April 18, 2006
The president came out forcefully in favor of Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, even coming up with a new name for himself - 'The Decider' on Studio B with Shepard Smith today.
Part of this tape was also played during the 12 - 1 p.m. edition of Fox News Live with Bill Hemmer. President Bush was yelling when he put out a vote of confidence for Donald Rumsfeld.
The president said, "I listen to all voices (Comment: When asked if he listened to the 6 retired Generals who called for Rumsfeld to step down) but mine is the final decision! And, Don Rumsfeld is doing a fine job. He's not only transforming the military, he's fighting a war on terror. He's helping us fight a war on terror.
I have strong confidence in Don Rumsfeld. I hear the voices and I read the front page and I know the speculation. But I'm the Decider and I decide what's best and what's best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as Secretary of Defense.
Comments: So, there you go, he's the 'Decider'. His is the 'final decision.' Don't you all feel more confidence in our president and Secretary of Defense now? Does the president really listen to 'all voices' or does he only listen to one? And does the president 'yelling' scare you into acquiescing to his opinion?
