Miss Moral Clarity Ann Coulter Can't Make Up Her Mind
Reported by Judy - April 14, 2006
Conservatives like Ann Coulter like to pretend that all issues have simple answers, which they alone know, and from which they never waver. But Miss Moral Clarity, Ann Coulter, could not make up her mind about rounding up illegal immigrants during her appearance on Fox News' "OReilly Factor" on Thursday (April 13, 2006). Watch the video of Waffle Coulter.
O'Reilly had Coulter on to talk about her plan for curbing illegal immigration -- build a wall, with illegal immigrant labor because it is cheap, then round up the illegal immigrants and send them back.
Coulter, of course, did not discuss the cost of building the wall or finding the immigrants and deporting them. She said that was beside the point -- if something is illegal you just enforce the law, pointing out that discussions of how to enforce laws against kiting checks is never an issue. She also insisted that "precisely how many police you deploy" isn't the point. Unless you're worried about the cost, which this "conservative" isn't, obviously. Or unless you're worried about whether having an unenforceable law on the books is a problem, which is exactly what we have now and Coulter ostensibly wants to rectify.
O'Reilly does a good job of pinning down Coulter on exactly what she means. At one point, she says it would have been easy to round up people in paddy wagons at immigration rallies and deport them. A few minutes later, she says she doesn't want to round people up and that O'Reilly is misrepresenting her position by saying that.
Miss Moral Clarity has been Caught on Tape waffling on what she believes. Pass the syrup, Ann?
