Fox Shows Bush Mentioning 9/11 In Most Of His Speeches
Reported by Donna - April 10, 2006
Is there a speech lately in the spate of speeches that President Bush has given the last couple of weeks on his position in Iraq where he doesn't mention 9/11?
Today on Fox News Live with Bill Hemmer Fox ran another clip of President Bush speaking, again, about 9/11.
The president said, "The September 11th attacks affected me. It affected my thinking deeply. The most important job of the government is to protect the people from an attack. And so I say we're going to stay on the offense."
Comments: I covered the three speeches he gave a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned 9/11 in them and he is continuing to do so. Right after this segment Hemmer asked David Gergen who served 4 presidents and currently is a columnist with U.S. News and World Reports if the president's speeches were helping him. Gergen said they were not helping much at all as was apparent in his latest poll numbers.
But Fox will keep showing those video clips of the president speaking about 9/11 when explaining his position on the war in Iraq. The problem is -- the American public isn't buying it.
