3 Christian Peacekeeper Activists Found - Intelligence Too Late For American
Reported by Donna - March 23, 2006
Today on Studio B with Shepard Smith he went to Bret Baier at the Pentagon for the news that 3 kidnapped peace activists had been found alive and well.
Baier said that it was a joint U.S./British operation that had been planned for months. They went to U.S. Major General Rick Lynch, who said the good news was that it was intelligence led and from received information from a detainee.
Comment: While Fox mentioned that American, Tom Fox, had been found dead two weeks earlier, it was mentioned as an afterthought, not as part of the story that there had originally been 4 kidnapped peacekeepers, only 3 were saved. I can't help thinking that the intelligence that they had for months did them little good, it was the person they picked up a few hours before who had helped recover these 3 peacekeepers.
Perhaps some more should be said on this story on why the American was the only one killed - I would have liked some more indepth information. Perhaps that will be forthcoming after the kidnapped peacekeepers have gotten a chance to come home and talk about their experience.
