News Hound Alert - Military Criminal Probe Focusing On Death Of 15 Iraqi Civilians

Reported by Donna - March 16, 2006

This is just in to CNN. The U.S. Military has launched a probe into a Novermber, 19, 2005 incident where it was claimed that 1 Marine and 15 Iraqi civilians were killed in a roadside bomb blast. An official announcement from the military said that U.S. officials got a tip somewhere along the way that perhaps those 15 civilians did not die in that fashion.

They conducted an intitial fact finding investigation and they found enough information to take the matter to the next step and they have launched a full fledged military investigation and there could be criminal implications to this.

Citing multiple sources, CNN said that the level of the investigation is such that they will look into precisely how these 15 Iraqi civilians died and whether there was any misconduct. What they are looking into is whether these civilians died in some kind of fog of war confusion or collateral damage incident ;or perhaps something else.

CNN has been told that there were some other circumstnces that led to their deaths and how it is, that that press release said they died in a roadside bomb blast but now it appears they did not.

Comment: Just wanted to keep our News Hound readers up to date with the latest breaking news. What it comes down to is a military criminal probe is now focusing on the deaths of 15 Iraqi civilians who apparently didn't die from the roadside bomb blast.
