Shepard Smith Makes A Funny About San Francisco And Gays

Reported by Donna - March 7, 2006

Today on Studio B with Shepard Smith he did a segment on the gay woman who was elected Homecoming Queen at Hood College in Frederick Maryland. Immediately after the segment Fox cut to a live shot of San Francisco, California.

Smith said, " That's a live look in San Francisco." Then, he started laughing.

What was so funny?

Smith went on to say, "Isn't that appropriate? Janice Dean, right after the Homecoming King is a women we go to San Francisco, there you have it." Janice Dean (off camera), "I don't know." Smith added, "I don't know, either." Smith seemed to try and get over this breach by praising the local Fox station in San Francisco.

Comments: Apparently it's hilarious that after a story about a gay woman, they would show a live shot of San Francisco. Was this planned? I suspect since Fox has such slickly produced segments this was intentional and meant to get a laugh out of Smith. Oh, those gays out in San Francisco - don't they just crack you up?

You can say a lot of things about Fox News but you can't mistake them for being professional.
