O'Reilly Takes Credit For Good Behavior On Oscar Night
Reported by Deborah - March 7, 2006
After speculating about political commentary on Sunday night's Academy Awards, O'Reilly admitted he was wrong by telling Bill McCuddy, "They all behaved, all of them." However, McCuddy wasn't prepared to give up the controversy completely and Bill couldn't resist taking credit for the non political tone of the show.

There was a montage of McCuddy on the red carpet asking various actors before the awards , "Is this the proper place to make a political statement?" All but one of the actors claimed that it was fine to make a political statement during the show. He responded to O'Reilly's comment that they behaved by saying, "There was a real shortage of Uber Liberals up there." Then he accused them of "chickening out" when they actually had the chance to make a statement.
O'Reilly trying to take credit claimed that the world was changing. "Cable News is watching every move they make. These people don't want that kind of heat." It was impossible to find fault with George Clooney but O'Reilly claimed that he could tell that Clooney wanted to make a poltical statement but knew it was a bad idea.
Unable to find fault with the actors, O'Reilly congratulated the winners and complimented Jon Stewart. So for now, the War on Hollywood is over on FOX but peace is very fragile.
